What’s going on? – This screening will feature a film called “Countdown to Zero” that talks about the origins of the atomic bomb. It traces the history of the the atomic bomb through many different nations. Furthermore, the film was “written and directed by acclaimed documentarian Lucy Walker (Devil’s Playground, Blindsight), the film features an array of important international statesmen, including Jimmy Carter, Mikhail Gorbachev, Pervez Musharraf and Tony Blair.” Check out the website at:http://www.takepart.com/zero.
The Daisy Alliance is an organization that supports nuclear nonproliferation and disarmament to stop Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs).
In more ways than one, this is an exclusive chance to see the importance of addressing nuclear weapons and WMDs in our generation, so take advantage of it and become more internationally minded!
Refreshments will be served during the screening!

This Tuesday, IASO will be having discussions in today’s current events. The officers will bring some events to discuss, and members are more than welcome to bring some of their own. Look forward to exciting discussions on what is going on the world, whether it be here in the States, or across the world in China!
Lastly, bring your dues! They are $20 and help pay for snacks at movie events, t-shirts, and other fun activities for the future

Come out again on Tuesday and join IASO members in International Movie Night! Check on T-Square and vote for what movie you would like to watch. The showing will start at 4:30 and is located on the third floor of the Student Center. There will be movie snacks as well!

Come join us at the official grand opening of IASO! The International Affairs Student Organization will be having our Welcome and Welcome Back Cookout this Tuesday, August 31st at 4:44pm! It will be located behind the SAC Fields at the grills by the Maulding Apartments on West Campus. Come out to meet other INTA, IAML, EIA and generally internationally minded students, chat with professors and find out what IASO has going on this semester. As any good cookout should, we will have hotdogs and hamburgers (veggie burgers too), chips, cookies, and drinks! You won’t want to miss out! And bring your friends!

Hey everyone! This coming Sunday and Monday with be another chance to meet the incoming freshmen. Take this opportunity to meet new potential members of IASO! Encourage them to check us out, the more the better. Tell them about yourselves and what made IASO a great place for your freshmen experience. Remember, there are other organizations out there doing the same, so make everything count!

IASO will be having a film screening of Russian Dolls, the sequel to L’auberge espagnole, in the Piedmont Room of the Student Center! Come out for light refreshments, casual networking, and an excellent film. We look forward to seeing you there!
Welcome back everyone! The semester schedule is almost finalized, as the other officers and I plan out our activities for the next few months. We’re very excited about some of our upcoming activities: viewing international films, playing international and team trivia, and continuing our Speaker Series from last semester!
We will also be hosting a FREE Kaplan-sponsored GRE practice exam later in the semester, which includes general information about the exam, a full-length practice exam with real GRE questions, and a detailed analysis of your performance. Get ready for an interesting and fun-filled semester of IASO!!
